TUE 19 SEPTEMBER @ 6.45PM @ Rio Cinema
Fight back with fury for our 30th anniversary screening of a truly trail-blazing activist documentary, Lesbian Avengers Eat Fire, Too!
Formed in 1992 in response to a wave of homophobic legislature and arson attacks, the Lesbian Avengers defended queer survival with art, humour and direct action, inspiring 60 chapters of Avengers worldwide (including London!) to take in the fire and make it our own.
Join us before the feature for Su Friedrich’s silent experimental classic Gently Down the Stream, scratched and fragmented into 14 dream-scenarios, to show exactly where our roots lie as queer experimenters & world-builders.
