Women in Protest! An Evening of Greenham Common Activist Film and Artist’s Shorts
Join us for an evening of activist film and artist’s shorts engaging with the legacy of the women’s peace camp at Greenham Common. We will be joined by So Mayer and Selina Robertson of queer feminist film collective, Club des Femmes, who set up camp at Tate Britain in February 2024 to learn from Greenham’s feminist art practices, histories and liberation struggles. Our programme will include Chant Down Greenham (Alanna O’Kelly, 1984); Witnessing Peace (Lin Li, 2020); Three Minute Warning (Sarah Wood, 2012); and Carry Greenham Home (Amanda Richardson and Beeban Kidron, 1983).
Drinks reception to follow: 7.30pm – 8.30pm.
This is one of a series of film screenings accompanying the Women in Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK 1970-1990 exhibition currently touring from Tate Britain and on view at Whitworth Gallery (UoM) 7th March – 1st June 2025. This event is co-sponsored by University of Manchester.
You can read more about Carry Greenham Home in this piece commissioned as part of our Revolt, She Said tour.
