Salon Discussion: Lesbian Cinema with BFI Flare programmer Emma Smart
What better way to celebrate our 10th birthday than by having the chance to carry out our own detective work and go deep into the caverns of the BFI Library collections to discover just exactly what material is held on lesbian cinema and what keywords are there to search for lesbians* in the catalogue?
From the closeted celebrities of classical Hollywood to out-and-proud New Queer Cinema via the radical experiments of the 1970s, lesbians have always been in film – and in film books!
Join us as we talk you through our favourite titles that reveal a secret history.
